Tim Carroll has been elected president of the Insurance Institute of London (IIL).
The former chairman of the International Underwriting Association will begin his new post on September 17. Carroll is also chief executive officer of GE Frankona Reinsurance.
Dennis Mahoney, chairman of Aon, will become deputy president of the IIL.
