IT specialist Getronics has launched a compliance platform for insurers and large brokers.

Positive Compliance is based on a framework that sits over existing systems to extract management information, retain records and audit transactions.

In addition, a number of templates are provided to enable companies to develop compliant processes. The templates cover areas such as complaints management, claims management, training and competence, regulatory reporting and anti-money laundering.

Getronics business consultant Patrick Cheesman said: "We are using templates rather than specific products to accommodate the fact that each company is different.

"The architecture is flexible enough to allow most existing systems, or other products, to be incorporated into the new framework."

The company is also looking at developing a system to manage compliance issues arising from offshoring.

"Companies that are setting up centres offshore will need to generate appropriate reports for the regulator and for management. We are looking at ways of doing this," said Cheesman.
