Martin Hudson has joined Mitsui Sumitomo at Lloyd’s as director of underwriting, replacing Eamon Brown.

Hudson, former president of Travelers Europe, joined Mitsui on Monday. Brown will depart at the end of the year after a month’s transition period.

Hudson left Travelers in September 2009 and has spent the intervening period as an independent underwriting strategy consultant to London market firms.

Brown joined Mitsui in January 2010, having previously served as a senior manager of the franchise performance division at Lloyd’s.

Mistui at Lloyd’s, a division of Japanese insurance group MS&AD, manages Syndicate 3210. The company recently withdrew from UK commercial motor business.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
