Marsh appoints Saunders

Marsh has appointed Adrian Saunders as head of private client services in the UK. He will report to Mike Melling, chief executive of Marsh’s Consumer Practice in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Saunders, who was formerly managing director of strategic partnerships at Zurich, said: “Growth in people’s personal wealth in recent years has been matched by their increasingly busy lifestyles. High net worth individuals often find that, when they need to make a claim, the terms and conditions of standard insurance cover are not sufficient for valuable personal assets.”

NU small business guide

Norwich Union (NU) has launched a 12-month campaign to help small businesses manage health and safety issues. “Simply Safety” consists of a series of guides aimed at trades including manufacturing, catering, building and retailing. Each guide will be available to download at www.nurs.co.uk

Highway adds product

Broker-only insurer Highway has added its Choice Home household product to the Open GI system. Highway Choice Home is an EDI sum insured rated contents and buildings product which was piloted in 2007. Launched on CDL last month, Open GI is the second software house to feature the product on its system

Brown & Brown’s UK move

US broker, Brown & Brown has set up its first UK broking firm. Decus Insurance Brokers, based in London, is the company’s first operation outside the US. It will be open for business from 1 March. Its four divisions will be property, casualty, professional liability and binding authority programmes.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
