Windsor joins Unitas

Lloyd’s broker Windsor Partners has become the tenth member of broker alliance Unitas. Other members of Unitas include Alec Finch Group and Perkins Slade.

Geden to leave NFU

NFU Mutual chief executive Ian Geden will retire at the end of the year. Geden will be replaced by former ING Direct chief executive Lindsay Sinclair, who will be appointed from 1 August.

Cat bond market slows

There will be little growth this year in the catastrophe bond market, according to investment banking giant Goldman Sachs. Catastrophe bonds have thrived in recent years, with the market worth $7bn in 2007. But factors such as excess reinsurance capacity have cooled their growth in 2008.

RFIB gets Gallagher chief

Lloyd’s broker RFIB Group has appointed Arthur J Gallagher UK deputy chief executive Dominic Hagger to drive the expansion of its international non marine insurance business. Hagger will work alongside Hugh Champion, who joined RFIB from Heath Lambert in 2007 to develop the group’s non-marine global risks insurance operations.

New Benfield non-exec

Reinsurance broker Benfield has appointed former Renaissance Re president William Riker as a non-executive director from 1 September 2008.

Open GI extends quotes

Open GI has launched an extension to its eBroker solution which will enable firms to quote online for schemes outside the standard Open GI quote engines.
