Five more for GoCompare
GoCompare.com has added five members to its home insurance comparison service. Churchill, Privilege, Prudential, Tesco and Virgin will add eight products to the aggregator’s offering. Hayley Parsons, chief executive of GoCompare.com, said research from the AA British Insurance Premium Index for July 2008 showed that shopping around for household insurance could cut bills by more than £100.
Three join Xbroker panel
Xbroker, the online comparative quotation system from Moorhouse Group, has added AXA, Groupama and Brit to its insurer panel. Further additions to the panel are expected this autumn. Xbroker announced record growth in the first half of this year, with the number of brokers using the facility increasing by 27% in April.
Aon hires ex-cop
Aon Crisis Management has appointed Sam Nicholls, a former senior police officer, to head a new extortion consulting team. The broker said this was in response to a rapid rise in the number of commercial extortion cases in the UK. Nicholls, a former national police co-ordinator, has joined after 32 years working on major crimes.
