Zurich management rejig

Zurich’s European general insurance chief executive Annette Court is to leave the business in a management overhaul. Chief executive of general insurance, John Amore, steps down from that role but will continue in an advisory capacity. Mario Greco becomes global chief executive of general insurance.

Admiral puts more hands on deck

Admiral is on the way to creating more than 700 jobs this year. The car insurance group said it had already taken on 490 people, and would employ 261 more by the end of next month. Last year, Admiral’s turnover was more than £1bn and the company recently took on its two millionth customer.

Comment now on PPI ban

The Competition Commission wants to introduce a point-of-sale prohibition on all forms of payment protection insurance (PPI), with the exception of retail PPI, to protect consumers. The commission is inviting comments on its provisional decision before publishing its verdict in July.

McCulloch heads Garwyn

Garwyn has appointed former Lockton boss Stewart McCulloch as its new chief executive. He was formerly international chairman, global sales, at Xchanging.

Bryon leads new Giles team

Giles Insurance Brokers has made seven appointments in its Llantrisant head office. The new team, headed by Peter Bryon, formerly of NIG, includes Bethan Jenkins, Chris Boughton and Neil Swinnerton-Hurford.
