The ex-RSA UK chief executive takes up a second non-executive director role
Seasoned insurance professional Adrian Brown has joined SSP as a non-executive director.
The ex-RSA UK chief executive, MoreThan managing director and Ardonagh chief operating officer, said he was ”delighted to be joining the SSP team at such an important and exciting time in the development of the business”.
He said: “SSP has played an important role at the core of the UK insurance market for many years.
“The new management team led by CEO Steve Lathrope is delivering an exciting programme of investment in software and service. I’m looking forward to working with Jonathan, Steve, the SSP Board and management team to make sure that SSP is positioning itself to provide the innovative new digital capabilities that the industry needs.”
Commenting, SSP chairman Jonathan Halford said: “We’re delighted to have Adrian join us. His exceptional depth and breadth of experience of the General Insurance industry will provide powerful insight into the opportunities and challenges in the industry, contributing to the ongoing development of SSP’s strategy and plans for the future.”
SSP chief executive Steve Lathrope said having Brown join the team was “great news” for the business, with SSP’s transformation well advanced, with the continued adoption of its Digital Insurance Platform, migration to the AWS Cloud and introduction of its new SSP Broking service.
“Adrian’s experience as a leader in underwriting and broking business, working with a wide range of technology partners including SSP, will provide us with an invaluable ‘voice of the customer’ as we move forward. His knowledge and expertise will play a crucial part in making sure that we have a clear view of what our customers need from us, enabling us to focus our investment on fulfilling their requirements and expectations of SSP as a business partner.”
After leaving RSA, Brown told Insurance Times that he was “interested in looking at things from the other side. I was never going to work for another insurer.”
Brown is already a non-executive director with Richard King’s latest telematics venture Ticker.
