New hire has held senior roles at Giles, Alec Finch and JLT
Paula Williams has been appointed group managing director of County Group’s commercial division.
Williams joins GRP-owned County from C&C Insurance, where she was operations director from 2015. She has previously held various senior roles for Giles (regional MD), Alec Finch (MD) and JLT (regional MD).
She will join County in September, and will report to Alastair Christopherson, group MD.
Commenting on Paula’s appointment, Christopherson said: “Paula brings significant commercial experience to the Group, as well as an excellent track record in managing and motivating teams and growing business.
“The County Group have just broken through the £100m premium barrier, which is a tremendous testament to our rapid growth both before and since becoming part of GRP.
“However, we have no intention of resting on our laurels, and Paula will be a key member of our senior team as we step up a gear and set our sights on a £150m GWP target within the next three years.”
Williams added: “I have followed the progress of the County Group closely and didn’t think twice about the opportunity to join Dave (Clapp, chief executive) and Alastair and help drive the business forward.
“I have known Alastair and Dave for some years and am delighted to become part of their team. County is renowned for hiring and nurturing motivated individuals with a can-do attitude and I am very excited to become part of it.”
