Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 10 to 14 February 2025

Starting off the week, Aon appointed Neil Davies as its new chief operating officer for the UK, Ireland and South Africa.

In his new role, Davies will be in charge of operations in these areas and work closely with technology leaders on initiatives to enhance client service and support growth.

Then, specialist MGA Optio Group appointed Gary Head as its new chief underwriting officer.

Head joins from Axa UK, where he has served as the director of schemes and delegated authorities for the last five years.

Following this, Marsh appointed Nigel Hinshelwood as its new UK chair.

Hinshelwood will succeed Tom Colraine and is set to take up his new role on 31 March 2025.

After that, Avid Insurance hired Kristian Bartlett as its new head of sales and distribution.

The newly created role will see Bartlett be responsible for growing the MGA’s distribution footprint regionally, as well as in its construction business IIGL.

Rounding off the week, CFC announced the departure of chief underwriting officer Dan Trueman following a strategic review.

The specialist insurance provider said it had undertaken a review of its structure and has now decided to reshape the chief underwriting officer role.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
