NIG has denied it is to sacrifice director of commercial lines Lyn Carslake as part of a major management restructuring.

Sources close to NIG told Insurance Times Carslake had been handed his notice this week.

However, NIG strenuously denied the rumours, claiming Carslake was not leaving the business and was currently “on holiday.”

NIG confirmed it would be implementing a new business model which will see the integration of personal and commercial lines businesses.

A spokesman at NIG said: “This will facilitate the development of centres of excellence for underwriting as well as enabling us to further improve our relationships with customers and brokers.

"I would also like to re-affirm that the rumours that Lyn Carslake is leaving the business are unfounded."
