Norwich Union (NU) IT director Alex Robinson is the new chairman of technology company Polaris.
Robinson has taken over from Royal & SunAlliance's (R&SA) UK personal lines managing director Steve Broughton.
Broughton stepped down following his retirement from R&SA after 37 years with the group.
Robinson has been a Polaris director for three years.
He said: "The industry needs to improve its reputation as a service provider and the Polaris E-Market development creates a huge opportunity to achieve this."
