Possible cash bid from Russian-backed private firm

Chaucer could receive a takeover bid from Pamplona Capital Management, a fund run by Russian financier Alex Knaster, The Telegraph reports.

Pamplona, a private firm that sits alongside a hedge fund, may make a cash offer for the company, the paper said.

It said it was unclear whether Pamplona was working on its own or with a partner.
