Indian insurance company Tata AIG has spiced up its insurance cover, by offering bumper payouts for commuters who die on national holidays.

Anyone covered by the company's Bombay commuter scheme will receive 10m rupees (£146,000) if they die on one of India's eight national holidays.

Research by Tata AIG has shown that while 10 to 15 people die every day while travelling in Bombay, very few commuters die on public holidays
