Chris Hanks, general manager of Allianz Commercial, managed to turn a few heads during a recent visit to the House of Lords.
He joined a friend, a leading peer of the realm, in a tour of the building and then went to lunch. When they entered the plush surroundings of the Lords dining room, three fellow diners all sitting at separate tables, greeted the insurance chief.
Had Hanks been mistaken for a peer? Unfortunately not. But being recognised in the upper house of parliament caught Hanks and his friend by surprise. Rumour has it he has since adopted a somewhat noble air.
