Plexus Law has been appointed to the Insurance London Consortium (ILC) panel to defend litigated insurance claims.

The panel will provide advice and services to seven London Boroughs, led by the London Borough of Croydon, which are members of the consortium.

The ILC has been seeking to establish a panel of litigation experts to handle core and non-core claims. Core claims include highways, housing and schools public liability, industrial disease and professional indemnity. Non-core claims include abuse, libel and slander and employers liability bullying and stress.

The tender follows on from previous insurance procurement exercises by the ILC. The ILC was set up for the sharing of best risk management practice and insurance procurement among its member boroughs.

Plexus Law partner Mark Dyson said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to the ILC panel following a rigorous tender process. With councils across the country facing increasing pressures on spending, collaborative procurement of services like this makes increasing sense. This scheme will bring the benefits of shared best practices, reduced spend and frequency of litigation for participating members of the Consortium.

“Plexus’ specialist expertise in insurance litigation and the public sector means we are well placed to deliver a quality service to the Consortium.”
