Additions will provide expertise in police and public sector work

Defendant insurance law firm Plexus Law has recruited a team of specialists to its Manchester office to boost its expertise in police and public sector work.

Andrew Steel is joining as a partner from BLG Claims, along with assistant solicitor Jennifer Lees. Both act on behalf of a number of police forces, an area where Plexus Law is already active.

According to the law firm, the arrivals build on the recruitment of Matt Smith who joined as a partner last year from former regional heavyweights Halliwells, bringing with him a team of three assistants (Catherine Moores, Tom Silson and Francesca Kenyon) and a portfolio of clients.

The team is based in Plexus Law’s Manchester office in City Tower and works closely with the firm’s National Police team headed by partner Simon Hills.

Senior Partner Andrew McDougall said: “Both Matt and Andrew are leading specialists in their fields and they bring with them a strong team of associates. This is a highly competitive marketplace and I am delighted they have chosen Plexus ahead of other opportunities they were presented with.

"We continue to keep an eye on opportunities for growth in our key specialisms, and I have no doubt that we will continue to expand in the future.”

Plexus Law has a national public sector team with a record of working with Local, Police and Fire Authorities.

The firm acts for over 50 public authorities, including central Government organisations.
