Insure-com has launched a new claims portal called Insur-e.claim, which it says will speed up the claims process and reduce the volume of paper used in traditional methods.

The new system uses the internet to deliver information to insurers, brokers, intermediaries and third-party claims management companies, by being built around a central data repository.

Where appropriate, the system can also provide an end-to-end solution for insurers and claims managers.

Intermediaries can access insur-e.claim through Insure.com's free back-office system called Insur-e.office.

Insure-com founder Ralph Ehlers said the new claims portal represented a major change in the way the industry handled the co-ordination and volume of information when dealing with a claim.

“We've taken a holistic approach and can demonstrate how Insure-e.claim provides benefits to the whole industry in terms of efficiency and cost reduction,” Ehlers said.
