After Backchat's recent dig at spin doctors FWD and their reported efforts to save the insurance industry's reputation in the face of Hurricane Spitzer, we received a plaintive missive from said PR gurus:

"It remains our lot to struggle daily to explain the tortuous complexities of the industry to non-specialists like PR Week -we clearly didn't succeed in this case," opined FWD.

"Spitzer, FSA and Syndicate could all be brands of energy drink for all many of them know. At least we have Insurance Times and its peers to put forward the reality of what is actually going on in our beloved industry," added FWD. Well quite so.
