Primary Group has set up a north American arm, headed by Charles Norton-Smith, the former chairman of BMS Special Risk Services.
He is one of four new appointments.
Nigel Still joins the group as human resources manager; Estelle Kirby joins as communications manager; and Justin Musson joins from the Financial Services Authority (FSA), to work with Nick Marley on acquisitions.
