Prudential staff are considering industrial action after union officials held meetings with bosses yesterday.
The move follows protests over job losses caused by the transfer of up to 1,000 jobs to India, and, the closure of the company's pension scheme.
Amicus officials will meet to decide how to respond amid warnings that the workforce are prepared to take industrial action.
Prudential said last month it planned to close its final salary pension scheme to new recruits, then a few days later announced plans to transfer work to India.
There were calls for industrial action to protect jobs at a meeting last week in Reading.
Amicus joint general secretary Roger Lyons said: "I am not surprised our members at the Pru are so angry.
"The announcement by the company has so incensed them that a traditionally moderate workforce are calling for drastic action to fight for their jobs.
"Amicus will support whatever action our members choose to take in defending their jobs and overturn this unbelievable decision by Prudential."
