PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has appointed Michael Daly as director of its actuarial and insurance management solutions practice in Scotland.

He will be responsible for establishing and developing an actuarial practice in the Scottish and Irish financial services markets and will be based in Edinburgh.

Daly is joining PwC from Winterthur Life & Pensions where he was the regional actuary for Asia Pacific, based in Tokyo.

PwC partner David Parmee commented: "Michael has gained invaluable and unique experience over the last five years in the Asian insurance markets, providing advice across a range of disciplines including actuarial pricing and valuation, financial reporting, risk and capital management, product and distribution strategies and mergers and acquisitions.
