Ince & Co was the law firm that advised Royal & Sunalliance on its purchase of Independent Insurance's schemes business.
International firm Ince & Co looked at issues such as the operation of the Policyholders' Protection Act and the funding that would have to be provided to Independent's policyholders.
Ince & Co partner and commercial insurance department boss David Coupe headed the legal team, with assistance from partner Anthony Fitzsimmons and assistant Claire Johnson.
Coupe said: “Given the current position of Independent Insurance, we were very happy to help R&SA on its acquisition and ensure the transfer of the business was as smooth as possible.”
