Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) has revealed plans to consolidate its building contractor network.

R&SA claimed the network of 25 contractors would improve levels of customer service while achieving cost savings. The Household Claims Building Repair Network will be in place by the beginning of September, it said.

R&SA claims services director David Neave said: "Our new network will enable us to more effectively manage our contractors and costs, ensuring a consistent level of service across the country.

"We regret that the review has led to the termination of many of our contractor relationships. However, we feel that it will bring significant benefits to both RSA and our customers."
