Swiss insurer Helvetia Patria Holding AG has announced that its unit, Helvetia France, has acquired the French transport insurance business of Royal & SunAlliance Insurance Group.
It was purchased for an undisclosed amount, retroactively as of January 1.
The company said the acquisition would strengthen its market position among the leading French transport insurers.
The R&SA unit has a premium income of around €7.5m, Helvetia Patria said.
The takeover is still subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
