So Gordon Brown informs us he will simplify and reduce the burden of the FSA rulebook. Didn't the same government assure us they would reduce the number of civil servants, all previously enjoying index-linked final salary pensions.

Now we discover Labour have actually increased the numbers of civil servants as well as creating huge expenditure on external consultants.

So don't hold your breath for any reduction in bureaucracy or cost saving to beleagured brokers.
