Court spat over alleged covenant breach

Royal Courts of Justice

Romero Insurance Brokers is suing former corporate manager Andrew Templeton and Eastwood & Partners Insurance Brokers for an alleged breach of contract.

Templeton left Romero in October 2012 to join Eastwood, according to papers filed at the High Court.

In November Romero tried to take out an injunction against Templeton and claimed that he had broken his contract by trying to deal with Romero clients after leaving.

However, a High Court judge did not grant an injunction. The case will now go to trial to decide whether Templeton broke his contract with Romero.

The trial is scheduled to start on 23 April and last three days.

Eastwood managing director John Eastwood said: “We are quite comfortable with our position.”

Romero would not comment.
