RSA UK chief executive Adrian Brown says he will be sorry to see group chief executive Andy Haste leave.

However, he adds that he is also looking forward to new chief executive Simon Lee taking over.

“I am disappointed to see Andy go,” Brown told Insurance Times. “Andy has been a fantastic leader for this business. If you look at what he inherited and the business we have now got, a lot of that is down to his leadership and his drive.”

But he added: “I will miss Andy but I’m really looking forward to working with Simon.”

Brown also believes Lee will take a different approach to his predecessor. “I think you will see Simon out more with brokers, customers and press. I think Simon will be more visible than Andy.”

RSA announced this morning that Haste would hand the reins to Lee by the end of this year. Haste has been group chief executive since April 2003 and is credited with turning the company around.
