It is fascinating how the world of rugby is contributing towards the insurance industry.

In the past few weeks Aon has appointed ex-Glasgow Hawks rugby star Cameron Little as business development consultant, which comes on the back of Welsh rugby legend Ieuan Evans being appointed as non-executive director of Welsh broker ProtectaGroup.

What is the attraction of rugby stars entering insurance?

Is it to escape the dis-appointment of international rugby given the experience of British rugby teams recently?

Or is it that nobody is going to argue with a burly rugby player’s judgment?

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
