Sunday is the worst day of the week for household accidents, say insurers. DIY, gardening and lots of sharp instruments are being used by the unskilled and hung-over.
But Mothering Sunday, Backchat hears, bucks this trend. A survey by Post Office Home Insurance found that the number of claims on Mother's Day last year were down 40% on the Sunday average. Men are probably treating their mothers rather than doing DIY.
