Company to merge with Herts-based firm Chris Semmens

Broking firm Saffron Insurance has announced plans to merge with Baldock-based broker Chris Semmens (Commercial) Insurance Broker.

Company owner Chris Semmens and his team will remain at their current premises in Baldock. This gives Saffron two main centres for commercial insurance in Hertfordshire and Suffolk.

“With the current economic climate I knew that to keep premiums competitive and maintain cover of a high quality I would require strength and support from a larger organisation," Semmens said in a statement. "My customers are very important to me and I did not want to just transfer my customers and friends into a faceless organisation. Saffron Insurance have the same high standards and customer service focus as I do. They’re a family feel business, with a team that really cares and will be around for a long time, as will I”.

Saffron now has offices in Essex, Suffolk, Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire and plans to spread further afield during the next 12 months.

The brokerprovides customers with arange of products, including business, motor, home and travel.
