Standard & Poor's has affirmed its 'BBB' counterparty credit and senior debt ratings on Liberty Mutual Group and affirmed its 'A' counterparty credit and financial strength ratings on its subsidiaries.

The ratings agency added that the outlook is stable.

This affirmation follows the filing of a lawsuit on May 5, 2006, by the New York Attorney General against Liberty Mutual.

The Connecticut Attorney General has filed a similar lawsuit against the company.
