Standard & Poor's have placed all its long-term ratings on reinsurer SCOR on CreditWatch with negative implications.

The CreditWatch placement follows SCOR's announcement that
it is negotiating with Gerling group for the purchase of its life reinsurance.

Standard & Poor's credit analyst Marcus Rivaldi said: "Today's rating action reflects other uncertainties that exist at this point-as they would for any other deal of such size and complexity-such as SCOR's ability to properly capitalize any newly formed group and successfully manage integration risks.

Rivaldi added: "Standard & Poor's current expectation is that, on resolution of the CreditWatch placement, the ratings on SCOR will remain well within the single 'A' range."
