Severe weather warning for much of UK tomorrow

The vast majority of claims submitted as a result of storms over the last week relate to domestic buildings, according to GAB Robins.

The loss adjuster’s most recent surge bulletin, issued earlier today, says that domestic building losses account for 90% of the storm claims received since last Thursday as many parts of the UK have been battered by severe weather.

Following the storm conditions, which affected the south coast on Monday evening, GAB has received a number of claims in the Brighton, Portsmouth and Southampton areas.

However Scotland has again generated the largest volume of claims received during the past week, around half of the total. .

The Met Office has also warned of a major storm for Thursday, which is likely to hit many areas of the UK again with damaging gusts of wind and further heavy rainfall with the potential for localised flooding.

But the bulletin describes the situation as still under control with GAB still meeting normal service level agreements.
