Scott Brock joins to head up newly formed Scion Underwriting Managers.

Brit Ltd has announced today that Scott Brock has joined as president of Scion Underwriting Managers.

He will be responsible for building and managing the operations of the newly formed Scion.

Scion will partner with Brit, other markets, as well as third party capital, to support the insurance needs of several industries, both in the US and international markets.

Scott was most recently at Advocate Reinsurance Partners, where he joined as chief executive in 2010. He also co-founded Tobat Capital in 1999. Prior to this, he held many leadership roles at E.W. Blanch Company, giving him over 25 years of insurance experience.

Matthew Wilson, chief executive of Brit said: “Scott is an exciting hire. His strong insurance background and experience as an investor makes him well positioned to help us establish a compelling offering for the ‘Group’”.

The new president of Scion added: “I look forward to working with the entire ‘Group’ in building-out the Scion platform over the long term. We have several exciting opportunities in front us and are busy putting the pieces in place to capitalize on these. I have always had a great deal of respect for Brit and I look forward to being part of its industry leading team.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
