The man in charge of provincial broker relations at Iron Trades, John Shetcliffe, has this week left his post. He had been with the company for 11 years and his decision to leave is amicable.

A brief statement issued earlier this week said that Shetcliffe would be leaving his post as general manager, provincial intermediaries and marketing division, by yesterday.

Iron Trades chief executive Robert Hardy has assumed responsibility for Shetcliffe's role. He told Insurance Times that Shetcliffe wishes to pursue one of a number of offers and needs space to consider his future. He will continue to work in the insurance industry.

He also said that no decision had been made about a replacement.

Shetcliffe joined Iron Trades in 1988 to set up a marketing agency control function. Two years ago he became responsible for the commercial insurance business dealing with provincial insurance intermediaries through a network of area offices. He was unavailable for contact at time of going to press.
