Operation to be managed by Randall & Quilter on a turnkey basis

Lloyd’s has approved the formation of Skuld Syndicate 1897, which was set up by Randall & Quilter on behalf of Norwegian protection and indemnity club Assuranceforeningen Skuld.

The syndicate will underwrite marine and offshore energy risks, and will be managed by Randall & Quilter Managing Agency on a turnkey basis.

Underwriting is scheduled to begin in November for risks attaching from 1 January 2011.

The syndicate will be backed with capital from Skuld, SCOR Underwriting Limited and Randall & Quilter. The stamp capacity for 2011 is £60m. The active underwriter will be Bernt Hellman, supported by Mike Bennett as deputy active underwriter.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
