Regulation fails to speed up quotation times

The time it takes to get an insurance quote, once talking to a real person, can vary by as much as 10 minutes, according to research by Direct Excellence.

And since regulation began on 14 January, the average time for a quote took 4% longer, the survey found.

Direct Excellence tested 35 companies on how quick they were in getting a quote for home insurance during December and January.

Barclays was the worst offender with a 37% longer time to quote after regulation. The most improved company was More Th>n with a 13% shorter time.
