No damage reported from 6.8 quake on Japan Islands
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.8 hit near islands in southern Japan off the eastern coast of Taiwan on Monday with no reports of damage, Reuters reports
The quake, at 9.11 (00.11 GMT), struck near Japan's Ishigaki Island, an area 223 km east of Taiwan, said the Japan Meteorological Agency and the US Geological Survey.
