Smart and Cook Holdings has announced the appointment of David Owen as its new non-executive chairman following the recent death of company founder Geoff Cook.

Owen has been a non-executive director of Smart and Cook Group since 1998.

Previously, Owen was chief executive of Oughtred & Harrison Insurance Group and a UK board director of Clarkson and Willis.
