Nick Southan, ex-managing director of Key Choice and director of CSC retail insurance division, has resurfaced at the head of a new e-commerce company, etc.

The company has designed technology to cater for large brokers and small groups of brokers.

Southan has teamed up with a South African software house to provide the market with a full cycle, full e-commerce solution.

etc claims the solution provides products designed specifically for sale via the internet. Initially these will be private motor, home, and travel.

The solution also has the backing of a select panel of insurers including Axa, Bishopsgate, Cornhill, Highway, Iron Trades and Norwich Union.

etc has spent more than £2 million to create the product.

Nick Southan said: "The investment has been necessary in order to get ahead of the market quickly."

"We have also combined our leading edge solution with a financial model and a way of doing business that customers will find hard to resist."

Southan added: "We are not operating to the same dynamics and inflated cost bases of the traditional solution providers which means we can deliver higher value for less cost. it is a new concept for a new world."


The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
