Carlo Cudicini’s motorcycle accident may prevent claim

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini has “possible life-changing” injuries after a motorcycle accident, which may have put him in breach of contract, cutting his claim from the club’s insurance, the Times reports.

Cudicini fractured both wrists and received pelvic damage when his BMW superbike collided with a Ford Fiesta in Walthamstow, east London.

Cudicini’s contract, which expires at the end of the season, contains a clause stating that he must not be involved in activities that affect his ability to play or train.

Career-ending claim?

The contract does not specifically exclude motorcycles, but no senior Tottenham official with knowledge of the contractual situation was aware that he owned a bike. A breach of contract could affect any insurance claim should Cudicini’s injuries prove career-ending.
