Software house SSP plans to scale back its Sector software arm.

Sector users will move across to a new SSP platform, SSP Pure.

SSP broker managing director Steve Bow said its Sector software was becoming more difficult and expensive to update and integrate to some Microsoft programmes.

Bow said the Sector office in Marlow would be closing, and that redundancies were expected as part of the move to other SSP offices in Solihull and Guildford. Staff consultations started last week.

"We're not overtly trying to cut staff, we're trying to save on office costs," Bow said.

"We've run this system since the 1980s. It's increasingly expensive to maintain and run and develop."
