Lloyd's has opened a claims mediation centre to provide the London Market with direct access to a resource for solving problem claims.
The Claims Mediation Centre has been set up in response to calls from the market for less costly ways of resolving difficult claims.

The group said the move would not involve any job losses or management changes.
Accenture recruits
Two high profile insurance industry experts have joined Accenture's UK insurance practice.
Mark Robertson will join Accenture as a partner. Previously he was head of CGEY UK and Ireland insurance practice, responsible for strategy.
Helen Brown will join as an associate partner. Previously, she led IBM's solution sales for insurance.
Trenwick ratings
Moody's has lowered its ratings for Trenwick Group amid concerns over its financial health.
In a move which comes as a blow to the insurer, Moody's lowered Trenwick's senior debt ratings from Ba3 to B3 and kept them on indefinite review.
GAB oil spillage
GAB Robins' liability team has been instructed by the public liability insurers for the Isle of Man government to investigate an oil spillage off the island.
The oil spilled into the drainage system of a local power station during heavy rains on 21 October contaminating numerous fishing and pleasure boats.
GAB Robins area liability director Jeff Stagg said: "Provisional estimates indicate the clean up costs could exceed £3m."
