Specialist reinsurance broker PWS Holdings has revealed its 2002 brokerage income was up 43% on the previous year.

In its 2002 financial results, PWS said its total income was £24m with a pre-tax profit of £5.1m.

Aon survey on EL
The current system of employers' liability compulsory insurance (ELCI) does not provide employees with timely compensation, according to an Aon survey. The survey, part of Aon's submission to the Department for Work & Pensions' review of ELCI, found that only 21% of Aon's customers felt that the current system met employees' needs.

Only 27% of respondents felt that the current system provided value for money.

HSBC in motorcycle
HSBC Insurance Brokers has launched a motorcycle product for brokers. HSBC claims that the product, called Spectrum Rider, offers competitive schemes for a range of bikes from mopeds to super bikes.

Czapita profit rise
Capita, the business process outsourcing group, reported profit before tax up by 36% to £98.2m last year, from £72.1m in 2001.

Its revenue increased by 30% to £898m from £691m in 2001.

The group said the increase was evidence that its customers were buying services on quality rather than price alone.
