Ex-Independent Insurance executives have been called into the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) for further two-day interviews.

A source said former Independent staff, some now employed at the insurer's run-off company Aurora Corporate Services, had visited the SFO's Elm Street offices over the past two weeks. An SFO spokesman confirmed the investigation was still underway.

Four in Folgate hub
The Folgate Partnership has bought its fourth hub broker.

Broker Alliance member Willett and Ross has been acquired by Folgate to bolster its presence in the North-East. The business will bring in over £13m gross written premiums.

AMP job worry
New AMP chief executive Andrew Mohl has cast doubts over up to 1,000 UK jobs, questioning the strength of the UK industry.

Mohl said its Pearl salesforce couldn't go on in the medium term in its current form. He infuriated the FSA by alleging several firms breached solvency rules.

Labour MP at CII
Labour MP Frank Field is to speak at the CII's Break-through Lecture later this year.

This year's lecture will be held at noon on 15 November at the CII's Insurance Hall.

The Irish Insurance Federation will launch its Factfile 2001 on 17 October in Dublin. The factfile is a five-year statistical trend analysis of motor, property and liability markets.

This year's edition will cover the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) and insurance fraud.

Capita says all fine
Capita has denied any problems with its ten-year Abbey National contract.

Capita managing director Bill Dye said Capita was in talks with Abbey National about extending the contract.

He denied rumours that Capita was having trouble with its Progen system.
