A niche insurance company is offering its marketing expertise to help boost the sales of flagging insurance products.

Summit Insurance Services, which specialises in the development of affinity distribution networks, has launched a new subsidiary to advise on increasing sales to retail and corporate markets.

Summit Insurance Distribution Services (SIDS) will target household name insurers and Lloyd's underwriters with plans to ensure their products go "at the right time by the right distribution channel to the right customer".

SIS managing director David Milner stressed the company's track record in establishing affinity networks for IT- related products.

He said: "The experience we have gained in developing insurance products and distributing them through non-traditional channels will be of great interest to insurance companies and Lloyd's underwriters."

Milner refused to disclose the nature of the distribution services SIDS plans, for commercial reasons. But he added: "Since the main aim of SIDS is to increase sales, our major income will be derived from commission, giving our clients a cost effective service."

SIDS specialises in developing insurance products and building of distribution networks for these products.
