New system applies “personal lines” business model to commercial insurance…

Swinton Business has implemented the Acturis Broking Platform, adapting techniques from personal lines brokering and applying them to commercial insurance.

The new system provides access to products via the inbuilt Acturis quote engine, via Insurer Extranet integration and through the use of structured email for more complex risks.

Swinton say they are unique in the way they are using the Acturis system, in adopting the "personal lines" business model where appropriate.

Carolyn Callan, Head of Business Insurance at Swinton commented: “The Acturis system provides a fantastic springboard to our future growth and we've had sight within the first couple of weeks of the opportunities it will present to us. Our performance was already outstripping the business plans, seeing more than a 75% year-on-year growth, and so we're really excited about the future.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
