While work progresses on Swiss Re's UK office in the City (dubbed the erotic gherkin), the firm has opened another architectural wonder in Munich.

Bavarian finance minister Kurt Faltlhauser was joined by other dignitaries at the opening of the Unterföhring premises. The building took two and half years to complete and will house 580 staff. Swiss Re Germany writes mostly property and casualty business and recorded a gross premium volume of E1.8bn (£1.13bn) in 2001.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
