HSBS Insurance Brokers and underwriters Avon Insurance have teamed up to offer small businesses a new insurance quotation service through HSBC's UK branch network or direct over the telephone.
Following the initial agreement between the companies in May 2000, and completion of the project early in 2001, new business sales have increased by 46%. Existing business will be transferred at renewal.
Customers benefit from a new range of flexible products, designed specifically to meet the needs of modern businesses. Bournemouth-based HSBC Insurance Brokers' primary lines of business are retailers, tradesmen, office and surgery, property owners, homeworkers and business choice.
David Taylor, operations director at HSBC Insurance Brokers, said: “Naturally, our decision to use Avon Insurance as our main scheme provider was significant.
“We have worked with its underwriters to develop market-leading products, and small firms will really benefit from our ability to deliver these over the telephone.
“I firmly believe we will have an enormously successful scheme and a strong relationship between the two companies in the future.”
